I sometimes draw people on the subway, but I am still too nervous to sketch anything on the spot. The guy I drew hated that I was looking at him.

I have the same problem. However, I still slip in a sketch or two whenever I can, especially when the other passenger is sleeping. Good luck and keep on trying with those subway sketches.
